The 2020 Virtual Holiday Fair!

If you've been a member of Society of Scribes for awhile, you'll know that this time of year is when we hold our annual Holiday Fair. It's a fun and festive day where we gather in-person here in New York, hosting mini demos and scriptorium workshops alongside snacking and shopping with folks like Paper & Ink Arts and The Ink Pad.

We are so pleased to announce that we will be continuing this tradition by hosting a virtual Holiday Fair on Sunday, December 6th from 1pm to 5pm EST (New York Time). And yes, its free for everyone to attend!

Some of your favorite local instructors—like Eleanor Winters, Anna Pinto and Barry Morentz—will be teaching short workshops and showcasing fun projects. Oh, and of course we will have our usual raffle for prizes, including a $100 certificate to purchase calligraphy supplies! As a member of our community, we'd also love for you to participate by submitting a video, see more below.

We are thrilled that we can invite not only our NYC members, but the greater calligraphy community around the world. The full schedule will be published in the coming days, so you can tune in when you want or join us for the whole event!

Call for Video Submissions!

We would LOVE to showcase the talents of our members while our Holiday Fair is broadcast to viewers around the world! Submit a video of you writing a festive greeting like “Happy Holidays” in the script and language of your choice and we'll feature you over the course of the event.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, November 27.
