Membership Benefits
Community
Members-Only Area
All members gain access to a private website to engage with one another, view resources, share work and best practices, and interact in small group events. It’s a perfect space to foster your calligraphic community even if you can’t attend our programming in person!
Events
The Society of Scribes organizes many annual events including: Grolier Club lecture, Open Members’ Exhibition at The National Arts Club, Holiday Fair, and a General Meeting with special guest speaker. Most events are free and open to the public.
Badge
Members receive a Society of Scribes badge to use on their website and professional communications.
Best of all, as a member you will have the opportunity to meet others who share your interest in letters. Make friends, discuss and exchange ideas, continue learning, and have a great time doing it all at various Society of Scribes events and programs.
Learning
Workshops and Classes
Learning opportunities are offered throughout the year in calligraphy and related arts, and open to students of all levels. Our instructors are highly skilled, many with decades of experience and international recognition. Members receive exclusive discounts on workshop pricing, and/or a priority registration period.
Lecture Series
New in 2022, we are hosting an exclusive (and free!) monthly lecture series for members only.

Annual Exhibition
All members are invited and encouraged to submit artwork to our annual member’s exhibition, held every spring at the National Arts Club on Gramercy Park.
