A professional calligrapher, Rita first took a broad-edge pen in her hand at the age of 9, and she’s been a passionate practitioner of handwritten letters ever since. She launched her own studio, Scribe New York, in 2015 and has steadily built a commercial client base of luxury brands, retailers, PR firms, and event spaces.
Her favorite writing styles are copperplate and Gothicized italic, and she’s studied classic italic, Spencerian, and other historic styles. She works with ink/pen, engraving tools, gold leaf application, pyrography, and paint/brushes. She also loves paper crafts and hand-marbling paper.
